Rahim Yar Khan:
Armed Dacoits launched an attack on Wednesday evening on the M-5 motorway near Bhong Sharif on Wednesday evening, opening fire to passing vehicles, injuring several people and removing at least 10 passengers and crew members of trucks.
According to police, a group of strongly armed Dacoits has set an ambush on the highway near Bhong, pulling without discrimination in each vehicle that has crossed their path. Several cars, two passenger coaches and several trucks and trailers have been criticized.
A woman and a child were one of the four seriously injured people and were transferred to Sheikh Zayed Hospital, Rahim Yar Khan.
More than a dozen vehicles have suffered serious damage, many tires broke out during the assault.
Highway police temporarily suspended traffic near the exchange of GUDDU and service areas while the security forces responded to the attack. Traffic was restored later during the day after an improved security deployment.
Police sources have confirmed that the attackers fled to the river “kacha” areas after the dismissal. Several trucks have been abandoned on the highway, with their missing crew.
Eyewitness said the Dacoits had removed around 10 people under the threat of a weapon.
The incident occurs for days after the Rahim Yar Khan police made drone strikes on the hiding places of the famous Indhar gang in the Kacha region. After the operation, the gang head Tanveer Indhar had published threats in a video message.
Police recorded a case at the Bhong police station on the complaint of Nawazabad Checkpost Inhal.
A research operation has been launched, although the authorities have so far refrained from publishing a detailed declaration.
Regional police officer Rai Babar Saeed reached Rahim Yar Khan to supervise the situation.
Earlier on January 14, armed gangsters of the Gang Indold launched a deadly attack on Basti Lashari in the Zahir Pir region of Rahim Yar Khan, targeting the parents of Osman Chandia, an informant of the police.
The attack, which would have a strike of revenge for the death of the notorious janu indhar gangster, left four dead, including three teenagers.
The police said that the Indhar’s gang had convenient to avenge the murder of his chief, Janu Indhar, who was eliminated in a secret police operation in July 2021 with the help of Osman Chandia.
Indhar had been involved in the murders of more than 10 police and civilian officials, including one in mass murder of nine family members in Mahi Chowk by Rahim Yar Khan in 2021.
The deceased included the uncle of Osman Chandia, Zaman Gul and three young cousins- Sajan, Madni and Guddu who were brothers.
