13 of a family killed in a di khan road accident

Friday, at least 13 members of the same family, including five women and one child, were killed in a tragic road accident after the brakes of their vehicle failed near Danasar in Darazinda, on the highway connecting Dera Ismail Khan with Quetta.

The family was traveling from Khanozai, Balutchistan, in Di Khan, when their vehicle became uncontrollable because of the failure of the brakes and overturned. Rescue 1122 rescue said that 13 people died on the spot, while three others were injured.

The deceased included Darya Khan, 27, Ahmed, 25, and the Yousaf, 10. The rescue teams moved seven bodies to the hospital, while the residents helped transport six others. The injured received first aid before being transferred to the hospital headquarters of the Di Khan district.

After the tragedy, the bodies were given to relatives after medical-legal formalities. Later, the victims were informed in their ancestral cemetery after the funeral prayers who attended by a large number of people in mourning.

Rescue officials confirmed that the accident was caused by the brake insufficiency, a common risk on the hilly section of the motorway connecting Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa to Balutchistan.
