Mianwali:
At least 16 terrorists belonging to Pakistan of Tehreek-E-Taliban (TTP) were killed in distinct operations by the police, the Department of Terrorism (CTD) and the security forces in Punjab and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) on Monday.
Punjab police said that at least 10 terrorists had been killed and that several other injured in a joint PTD police operation in the Mianwali district region. A few hours later, the army said that six terrorists were killed in two intelligence -based operations (IBOS) in the KP Waziristan region.
According to Mianwali police, a joint operation was launched two days ago on the indicated presence of 20 to 30 terrorists in the Mullakhel hilly region, next to the Karak district, in the jurisdiction of the Makarwal police station.
They said that the police, the CTD and the Rangers, led by the Mianwali district police officer (DPO) Akhtar Farooq and joined by the Sargodha Range (RPO) police officer Shahzad Asif Khan, surrounded the terrorists and engaged them in intermittent fire exchanges.
Consequently, according to a statement published by Punjab police spokesperson, more than 10 terrorists were killed, adding that there were injury reports to more terrorists. The source said that new police measures against terrorists were underway.
During these fire exchanges, the Punjab police spokesman said that a local man was injured in the leg and was transferred to a local hospital. He added that all officers and police staff and the CTD remained unharmed.
Security in Mianwali and the surrounding area was improved after the operation. Officials have confirmed that the operation would continue to guarantee the complete elimination of terrorist networks operating in the region.
Punjab police inspector (IGP), Dr. Usman Anwar, praised Mianwali police on their “brilliant success” against terrorists. “The Punjab police are on alert … The harmful plans of the terrorists will be crushed,” said Punjab police chief.
Head Minister Maryam Nawaz also paid tribute to Punjab police and CTD for eliminating 10 terrorists in Makarwal and sent his best wishes for them. “The brave sons of the Punjab police are our pride,” she said.
In a released statement by Islamabad, Interior Minister Mohin Naqvi praised the Punjab police and the CTD for their successful operation against the terrorists, which described it as “significant success” in the undergoing fight against terrorism.
The Minister paid compulsory tribute to the Brave police and CTD staff who, in a high stake operation, eliminated more than 10 Khawarij terrorists. He said that the operation was not only a tactical success but a powerful message to all anti-state elements, plotting against the country’s peace and security.
“By sending more than 10 Khawarij terrorists in hell, the Punjab police and the CTD have demonstrated an exceptional resolution and professionalism,” said Naqvi. He added that such victories were crucial to ensuring lasting peace in the country and protecting the life of innocent citizens.
Reiterating the government’s unshakable position against terrorism, the Minister of the Interior, Naqvi, assured that all the necessary resources would be provided to the perosnnel of the law to eliminate terrorism of the country.
Ibos Waziristan
According to inter-service public relations (ISPR), five Khwarij terrorists were killed in an IBO in the general area of Razmak in the northern district of Waziristan, while a head of the Zabi Ullah terrorist ring was neutralized in another IBO in the district of southern Waziristan.
“On the reported presence of Khwarij, an information based on information was carried out by the security forces in the general area Razmak, in the district of northern Waziristan. During the conduct of the operation, the own troops actually engaged the location of Khwarij, consequently, five Khwarij were sent to hell,” said the ISPR.
“In the district of southern Waziristan, the own troops actually neutralized the chief of Kharji’s ring, Zabi Ullah @zakran, who has been actively involved in many terrorist activities against the security forces as well as in the target death of innocent civilians and was strongly sought by law enforcement agencies,” added that she added.
The ISPR said that disinfection operations were underway to eliminate any other Kharji found in these regions, adding that Pakistan security forces were determined to eliminate the country’s threat.
President AIF Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to the security forces for successful operations against Khwarij in northern and southern Waziristan. In their separate statements, they applauded the bravery of the troops for killing the Khwarij.
They reiterated the government’s commitment to eliminate terrorism to train the country. The president and the Prime Minister said that the whole nation was united alongside the security forces against the threat of terrorism.
