An explosion of bomb near a police van in the double area of the Quetta road killed at least two people and injured 17 people including four police officers, according to local authorities.
The police said that the explosion had caused damage to the police vehicle as well as neighboring cars and motorcycles. The rescue teams quickly arrived at the scene and transported the wounded to a local hospital.
A spokesperson for the Balutchistan government confirmed that the security forces had completed the region and that an investigation was underway. No death was immediately reported.
No group has claimed the responsibility of the incident so far.
Quetta, the capital of the Balutchistan province, has often seen attacks targeting the security forces in the middle of a broader insurrection in the region.
