- Dolby Atmos arrives at Porsche Premium Bose and Burmester systems
- Also on board: Alexa support and new application center
- The new equipment offers improved responsiveness
Entertainment in Porsche’s car will further improve in this year’s models, thanks to a significant upgrade that brings Dolby Atmos to the Model 911, Taycan, Panamera and Cayenne series.
Nor is it the only new feature. There is also Amazon Alexa plus a Porsche Connect enlarge package, and the system itself should be even more fluid in daily operation.
Porsche also has a new application center, which we have seen for the first time in the electric Macan.
What’s new in 2025 Porsche model
Porsche calls for its infotainment system Porsche Communication Management, or PCM for short (yes, a little confusing for those of us in the audio modulation and the high resolution pulse code, but we support on). The new model year provides improved equipment, and is delivered with ten years of Porsche Connect “to ensure a reliable digital user experience”.
One of the big changes is the application center, which works in the same way as telephone stores and familiar tablet applications. According to the market (not all applicants of applications offer their products on a global scale), you can add applications for streaming music and podcasts, applications for weather forecasts and news, and even game and karaoke applications. Porsche says there will also be smart house applications allowing you to control your home when you are on the road.
Another large upgrade is the addition of Alexa to the existing Porsche Voice Pilot. You will be able to activate it with the Alexa trigger word, with a button or with one of the PCM icons. Alexa will be available in the United States, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Austria, Germany, France, Italy, Spain and Canada.
And then there is Dolby Atmos. For the first time, cars with high -end and high -end audio systems from Bose and Burmester will have Dolby Atmos, and will be compatible with ATMOS compatible applications of the Application Center. Having fell directly in the middle of an album when I drive a Porsche? Yes please.
The improved PCM will be in vehicles distributed from June 2025, and these vehicles can be ordered now.
