The United States was waiting for male football to take off; It was close, but next summer could be the great ancestry.
Next year, of course, marks the first time since 1994 that the United States has been hosting the World Cup (with Canada and Mexico).
The American national male team (USMNT) has not yet overcome the bump, but they have reached the stadium with direct elimination of each of their last two World Cups. With a good performance, the former star of the USMNT Clint Dempsey thinks that sport could be the next great thing in America.

“When I think back to the 1994 World Cup and I go to my first match in Dallas, because of the way the American team did and the quantity of play because of the World Cup here, I am curious to see what will happen next year, if the United States can perform well, which could happen,” DEMPSEY in PK Press Club in a recent interview. “It is too often, it seems that every four years, all those who are traditional American by taking note instead that traditional Americans take note of it each year.
“You have [Lionel] Messi moving the needle in terms of creating an impact in the consumer media, but if the United States has a great performance during the World Cup, the sky is the limit of what can be accomplished. I’m a little nervous, however, right now, but I can’t wait to go to the Gold Cup to get a dance for the big dance in 2026. “
Why is Dempsey nervous? Well, not leaving the group phase of the Copa America last year, a tournament that only includes countries in North and South America, on their own home soil will do so.
“It was a failure. You are the only host country not to leave the group phase in Copa America,” said Dempsey.
“But they can get back on the right track. I think [head coach Mauricio Pochettino] needs a little more time with them. Hopefully Gold Cup, a solid performance, get back on the right track and try to do something special. “”

The World Cup will naturally bring together viewers and develop the game alone. However, Dempsey has always felt a “responsibility” to do so himself. This is why he has teamed up with Abbott, the official partner of health and nutrition sciences of Real Madrid Football Club, to make the Abbott Dream team.
Abbott and Real Madrid organize football tests for 18 and 19 year olds in Chicago, Washington DC, Philadelphia, Los Angeles and Dallas this summer, when the 11 best players will travel abroad on a trip to Ciudad Real Madrid in Valdebebas, Madrid this fall.
“I am happy to give children a platform to continue their dreams. One of these cities to try is Dallas where I have somehow started everything.” These young players have the opportunity to continue their dreams and to find out about nutrition to prolong their careers if they have the chance to do it as a profession. I am happy to be one of the people who give people the chance to chase their dreams, because at the end of the day, that’s what everything is.
“I always had the impression that I was trying to develop the game in terms of Pionniat, but at the same time, if you have opportunities like this to restore and give people this platform to have this experiences, it is special, because that’s what life is,” he added. “I have six children, and it’s pretty busy pursuing them, and sometimes it’s as if you were a Uber driver, but it is that I watch them try to continue their dreams. This is what this life is.

Dempsey, like all of us, hopes that the word “failure” is not raised next summer during the World Cup. The USMNT can avoid this, said Dempsey, as long as they can continue what they have done in recent cuts.
“At the bare minimum, I think you have to get out of the group. If you don’t make the group, it’s a failure,” said Dempsey. “There will be a lot of pressure on this team to be one of the host countries, and not get out of the group will be a failure. It starts by getting out of the group, making people believe, and anything can happen when you enter the direct elimination towers.”
