On Wednesday, three Division I basketball players were prohibited from the NCAA for betting on their own games.
Mykell Robinson, Steven Vasquez and Jalen Weave were dismissed from their eligibility after the NCAA committee on offenses published conclusions that determined that the players bet on the competitions in which they competed in Fresno State and San Jose State, and were able to share thousands of dollars in payments.
The three athletes have been released from their respective teams and are no longer enrolled in their previous schools. None of the two schools has been punished.

The NCAA said that the three players have bet on the other’s matches and / or provided information that allowed others to do so during the regular season of 2024-25 and that two of them even handled their performances to ensure that some bets were won.
NCAA said that a sports integrity surveillance service in January informed the Fresno and NCAA state application that a Nevada Sportsbook operator had reported suspect bets on Robinson. The investigation started a week later.

Fresno State said he was happy to cooperate with NCAA.
“The university proactively shared information reported concerning sports betting activities with the NCAA and worked in collaboration with NCAA staff throughout the investigation,” the school said in a statement. “Although the consequences of eligibility for former students-athletes are important, the case has finally led to a level III / secondary violation and no sanction for the institution. The university continues to have confidence in the culture of athletics of the state of Fresno and is recognizing to conclude this problem.”
The state of San Jose said he was aware of the decision and that Vasquez was already withdrawn from the list.
According to the NCAA, Robinson and Vasquez had been roommates in Fresno State during the 2023-24 season. In January 2025, Robinson, who was still in Fresno State, and Vasquez, then in San Jose State – discussed SMS that Robinson planned to underperform in several statistical categories in a regular season match. Robinson also placed several bets on Weaver, his teammate in Fresno State in 2024-25, discovered the NCAA.

During this same season, Robinson placed 13 bets on daily fantastic sports accessories and sub-line totaling $ 454 on Parlays who included his own performance. He raised $ 618 on an occasion.
Robinson placed several bets on Weaver, including two bets placed before a match at the end of December 2024 after he and Weaver exchanged information on their respective Paris lines, said the NCAA. Weaver also placed a betting bet of $ 50 on a perlation for itself, Robinson and a third athlete, and he won $ 260.
