A Nigerian national arriving from Bahrain at Lahore airport had 35 capsules filled with cocaine seized with his stomach.
According to a spokesperson for the anti-narcotic force (ANF), drugs worth more than Rs 381 million, totaling 406.98 kilograms, were seized in various operations.
Eight people, including foreign nationals and a woman, were arrested for their involvement in drug trafficking and smuggling.
In an operation near Islamabad on the M-1 motorway, a woman was arrested with 4.8 kilograms of opium and 7.2 kilograms of haschisch.
In another operation on the same highway, 8.4 kilograms of hashish were found hidden in a car and two suspects were apprehended. In addition, in a third operation, a passenger bus was searched and 2.4 kilograms of hashish were recovered from a passenger.
In a separate incident in Manshra, 450 grams of hashish were seized with a suspect near a college.
In Balutchistan, 360 kilograms of hashish were found in the deserted area of Pishin, and 21.6 kilograms of hashish were recovered in hidden compartments of a vehicle near Peshawar.
Affairs under the anti-narcotic law have been filed against arrested and surveys are underway.
Last month, the ANF thwarted multiple attempts to smuggle medication, entering nearly 28 kg of narcotics worth more than 10 million rupees in a series of operations across the country.
Two suspects were arrested, with current surveys.
According to an ANF spokesperson, the repression of drug trafficking continues, in particular around educational establishments and the main transport centers.
The authorities target national and international smuggling networks.
In Peshawar, a suspect was arrested nearly a university with 2 kg of cannabis, which, according to him, was intended for sale to students.
