Boston – It is not often that I receive goosebumps at the start of a sporting event, and they last until the final buzzer. But that was the feeling I had while watching Team USA lose against Team Canada at the 4 nations game championship at TD Garden in Boston.
The beauty of American patriotism was exposed, with the whole crowd singing the national anthem, throughout the final whistle. It served as a precious reminder that this match was more than a simple match. It was the American people who met for a common goal: to defeat our enemies.

I have covered many sporting events in my career, but nothing compared to this. Are you lucky to watch my country face its biggest hockey rival with a championship at stake? I receive goosebumps, once again, just thinking about it.

Before the start of the match, there was a drama on what could happen when the two countries made their national hymns sing in front of the largely American contingent at hand.
Would the Americans hit the Canadian national anthem, as the Canadians did on Saturday in Montreal?
The answer was… in a way.
In the end, however, it was never a question of Canada. It was the United States of America. It was in the middle of a game when Mike Eruzione, the honorary captain of Team USA for the championship match, came to the ice.
But it still improved. While the Americans mainly respected the Canadian national anthem, which came first, the crowd sang the “star banner” in unison, leading to one of the greatest sporting moments of which I witnessed my life.

It was easy to forget that there was still a hockey match to play, and a big one. The United States team seemed to feel the same thing, struggling early and ultimately abandoning a goal for less than five minutes after the competition.
If the Canadians thought that the Americans would lie on their original soil, they were sorely damaged. While Team USA had trouble winning his place early, the Americans continued to push – and continued to strike. Finally, the dirty work borne fruit with the objective of link at the end of the first period, which else, Brady Tkachuk.
I know that journalists are supposed to be impartial, but go ahead? Do you think I’m not rooted for the United States? Be real.
Tkachuk’s goal equaled the match in a match, and he stayed in the first intermission.

The second period continued in the same way. While Canada was the faster and more qualified team, it had trouble matching Americans’ physics. This physics, led by Brady Tkachuk, paid the second goal of the USA team halfway through the executive.
Jake Sanderson scored the counting of goals, but it was the fierce and the presence of Tkachuk Ferocious and Net-Font who released the ice so that Sanderson made a Canadian goalkeeper Jordan Binnington.
Following the objective, American fans chanted “Jor-Dan, Jor-Dan” in Binnington, in an attempt to make the besieged Canadian goalkeeper vibrate more.
Like the Americans in the first period, Canada returned with a late marker to equalize the scoring for two.
This goal sent the match in the third period tied.
The Americans played in a large part of the third period, exceeding Canada and exceeding Canada, and dominating the possession of the washer. But they could not obtain the starting goal.
While time was starting to turn on the regulations, the tension was built throughout the TD garden. You can literally feel it. But what else did we expect? There was only one way that this game was going to end, and it was overtime.
Ass at equality of two after a third party, the teams went to sudden death.
The United States was likely to have been chances, including a close range of the best player in the team, Auston Matthews.
But the failure to capitalize has finally cost the Americans. The best player in Canada, really the best hockey player on the planet, Connor McDavid, did not miss with the game on his stick.
The stinking result. There is no way to make it sugar. But seeing the Americans come together to encourage their team, and more importantly, their country, was more important than winning a hockey tournament.
And Team USA has sent a message to Canada – you are not the only country to produce elite hockey players. America is back, in every sense of the word.
