450 pilgrims come back from Iran

Vice-Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ishaq Dar confirmed that 450 Pakistani pilgrims had been successfully evacuated from Iran, declaring that the government took all the necessary measures to ensure the safety of Pakistani nationals in the region.

In a press release published on X on Sunday, DAR said that the evacuation of 450 Pakistani pilgrims from Iran had been completed on Saturday. He added that arrangements are also taken for safe evacuation of the first batch of 154 Pakistani students blocked in Iran.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs has also said that efforts are underway to evacuate and ensure the safe accommodation of the Pakistanis blocked in Iraq.

“Our embassy in Iraq is in contact with the Pakistani Zaire which are blocked due to the closure of airspace. Measures are underway to ensure their stay in Iraq and a possible evacuation,” said DAR. A 24 -hour crisis management unit (CMU) is active at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to help Pakistani nationals. In the suburbs of Tel Aviv de Ramat Gan, nine buildings were destroyed and hundreds of apartments have been damaged, Haaretz reported. About 400 residents were evacuated from the Grande Aviv region due to structural damage.

Visuals have shown general devastation, including fire vehicles and flattened residential blocks.
