Wednesday night, during Super Bowl week, was a local talent show.

The Toyota Glow-Up Classic, a glow-in-the-dark flag football game featuring high school girls from the Bay Area, was held on the same field where the Pro Bowl was held, at the Moscone Center in San Francisco.

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy is obviously a fan favorite, and he has to be even more so serving as coach for the game.

“It was awesome to have the opportunity to coach high school girls and watch them compete, and for Toyota to put on such a cool event, I thought it was just an amazing thing,” Purdy told PK Press Club Digital after the game. “That’s where the Pro Bowl was played. So for us to be able to go there and those girls having fun, scoring touchdowns, jumping like a tundra. It was a fun night.”

Eli Manning and Kylie Kelce were official, and despite their best efforts, they weren’t perfect, according to Purdy.

“They did a great job. I mean, Eli threw a few flags that I was like, ‘Man, come on.’ Like we had a big play. Eli threw a flag and called it back. So I wish I could have thrown a challenge flag, but he did a good job,” Purdy joked.

Division rival Puka Nacua was also coaching, but Purdy said the two were able to put aside their differences for at least a few hours.

“We were just relaxing. I mean, we both had a great time,” Purdy said. “Puka’s a competitor. I love his game and everything, but to be able to go out there and coach girls and have fun with it. It was pretty cool.”
