The Super Bowl returns to the Bay Area on Sunday for the first time in a decade, and the San Francisco 49ers stars think it’s a smart choice.

Levi’s Stadium hosted Super Bowl L, Peyton Manning’s final game, while Stanford Stadium hosted Super Bowl XIX, when the nearby 49ers beat the Miami Dolphins, 38-16.

“It’s a historic town with so much character. The food, the hills, the houses, the water, the bridge, all that. It’s such a great town too, and it’s really cool to see it come to life even more than it already is,” Christian McCaffrey told PK Press Club Digital on the radio before the big game.

“Man, I think San Francisco has so much to offer,” quarterback Brock Purdy added. “Obviously with the restaurants, the experiences, how pretty it is here with the Golden Gate Bridge and the ocean. It’s a great city, great people. So to have the Super Bowl here is really cool.”

Levy Restaurants also went to the Bay Area for big game. Fred Warner had the chance to take a look at their Super Bowl menu while he nursed his injury and watched his Niners play from the suites at Levi’s Stadium.

“I had the pleasure of trying some of their dishes that they will have on Super Bowl Sunday in my suite this past season. They had the steak fries, which were delicious, man, that’s right up my alley, a delicious combination of steak and fries there. Crab nachos, which were fantastic. Ribs, so they had some really good options, man. I think it’s going to be a hit.”

Warner also echoed his teammates’ sentiments about the California city.

“I think it’s just because it’s a melting pot, man. All the different cultures mixing, all the diversity and mixing,” Warner said. “You can get a little bit of everything you’re looking for here, and of course, playing in the biggest stadium in the entire NFL, Levi’s Stadium, you can’t beat it, and so I think it’s going to be a great Super Bowl Sunday and a great week as well with all the different activities planned for everyone.”

The game itself takes place about an hour outside of San Francisco itself, but the Super Bowl experience and Radio Row all took place in the heart of the city at the Moscone Center.
