Islamabad:
The president of Hurriyat senior and president of the jammu cashmere of salvation (JKSM), Altaf Ahmed Bhat, paid tribute rich to the legendary leader of the cashmere Syed Ali Shah Geelani during his 4th anniversary of death, greeting his fight for life and his unwavering position for the freedom of Jammu and Kashmir.
Bhat said that all of Geelani’s life was devoted to the cause of the release of cashmere and its annexation intended with Pakistan, which he considered as the completion of the unfinished agenda of the score.
“Geelani’s slogan ‘Hum Pakistani Hain Aur Pakistan Hamara Hai”, continues to inspire and strengthen the spirit of resistance among the inhabitants of Jammu-et-Cachemire, “he said in a press release. The describing as an incarnation of cashmere resistance, Bhat added that Geelani was more than a political figure.
“For decades, he suffered a prison sentence, residential assistants and relentless persecution, but has never destroyed his principle to be held in Pakistan and demand the right to self-determination for his people,” he said.
He said that the speeches, writings and sacrifices of Geelani have sparked a conscience that still fuels the cashmere movement today. Even in the face of serious restrictions in recent years, Geelani has remained a symbol of courage, integrity and a voiceless voice for freedom, he added.
Stressing the current political moment, Bhat stressed that after the recent victory of Pakistan in the May conflict with India, Islamabad must accelerate his diplomatic efforts and seize the opportunity once offered by US President Donald Trump for mediation on the cashmere dispute.
He declared that the inclusion of the management of the key cashmere in such discussions is vital, because no solution is possible without the real representatives of the people.
Bhat firmly condemned the continuous imprisonment of senior leaders, notably Yasin Malik, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Dr Abdul Hameed Fayyaz, Masarat Alam Bhat, Asiya Andrabi, Zaffar Akbar Bhat and others.
He said that these imposing leaders in the fight against cashmere freedom are subject to detention and denial of medical care, who have pushed a lot in serious health crises.
He particularly noted that the Indian government’s intention to convert Yasin Malik’s life imprisonment into a death sentence inside the prison is nothing less than a political assassination.
Such actions, he warned, constitute a serious humanitarian tragedy and must be condemned by the international community. Bhat demanded the immediate and unconditional release of all political prisoners, stressing that their freedom is essential for any significant and credible peace process.
Reaffirming Geelani’s vision, Bhat has urged the UN to intervene and to achieve his long -standing commitment to grant the cashmiris of their right to self -determination.
