At least three people were injured on Saturday when an earthquake of amplitude of 5.5 hit the district of Musa Khel and its neighboring regions of Balutchistan.
The tremors were felt in the region, the epicenter of the earthquake located 56 kilometers north-east of Musa Khel at a depth of 28 kilometers, according to the earthquake monitoring center.
The earthquake caused significant damage to Musa Khel, where two houses were destroyed and three others underwent partial damage.
Rescue sources have confirmed that three residents were injured due to collapsed buildings. Fortunately, injuries have been reported as minor.

The province of disaster management (PDMA) has already launched rescue operations in the affected area.
The PDMA spokesperson said the teams estimated the full scale of damage and distributed tents to provide temporary shelters to people moved by the earthquake.

Earlier, tremors were reported in the BARKHAN district, Balutchistan. There was no immediate report of damage or victims.
According to the US Geological Survey, the earthquake that struck Barkhan had an amplitude of 3.9 and occurred at a depth of 12 kilometers. Its epicenter was located 59 kilometers northwest of Barkhan.
The authorities have monitored the situation, although no significant effect was noted.
