A 5.9 coarse earthquake made Islamabad, Rawalpindindi, and several parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Thursday, said the Pakistani (PMD) seismic monitoring center (PMD).

According to the seismological center, the epicenter of the earthquake was located in the Hindu region of Kush in Afghanistan at a depth of 111 kilometers.

Tremblies have been reported to Peshawar, Lower Dir, Upper Dir, Malakand, Bajaur, Mohmand, Shabqadar, Charsadda and Parachinar, as well as Nowshera, Hangu and Kohat. Shocks have also been felt in Manshra, Abbottabad, Swat and Attock.

In Punjab, tremors were tested in the regions of Mianwali, Chakwal, Talagang, Kallar Kahar and adjacent, while Multan also pointed out tremors. In Islamabad and Rawalpindi, strong shocks prompted residents to rush outside.

In Azad Jammu and cashmere, the people of Neelum Valley and Dhirkot felt tremors.

No immediate report of victims or damage has been received.

Several earthquakes have struck the Afghan-Pakistani region, which is at the intersection of Indian and Eurasian tectonic plates.
