Quetta:
Five alleged terrorists were killed in a joint intelligence operation carried out by the security forces and the Department of Counter-Terrorism (CTD) in the Dubbar mountains zone in the Duki Duki district.
According to CTD officials, the operation was launched after receiving credible information concerning the presence of armed terrorists in the region. During an exchange of fire, five suspects were killed on the spot.
The bodies were then transferred to the Duki civil hospital for medical-legal formalities, then transported to the Civil Hospital Quetta by ambulance for other procedures. The identity of the deceased has not yet been confirmed and an investigation is underway to determine their possible links with prohibited outfits.
The chief minister of Balutchistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, praised the CTD and the security forces for their rapid action to neutralize the threat. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to protect the life and property of citizens, declaring that no compromise would be made on the peace and security of the province.
Security in and around the region was tightened following the operation while the authorities are continuing efforts to limit activism in the region.
