The repatriation of Afghan refugees continues while the deadline established by the government is adopted, with 944 foreign families, including 6,700 people, expelled from Pakistan since April 1.
Sources of immigration have indicated that these people were transported to the Landi Kotal public transport camp, where they underwent a necessary treatment before being expelled via the Torkham border.
Among the deportees, 2,874 men, 1,755 women and 2,071 children returned to Afghanistan.
The repatriation, which began on September 17, 2023, experienced a total of 70,494 Afghan families, representing 469,159 individuals, returning to their country of origin.
In addition to deportations, a police repression in Rawalpindi continues, targeting Afghan nationals illegally residing in the country.
Since the beginning of April, 353 Afghan nationals have been detained for having lacked valid residence documentation. The authorities focused on cards without proof of residence (POR) and those who have expired Afghan citizen cards.
This current operation has intensified security measures at the Golra Mor Holding Center, where Afghan -detained nationals are treated for expulsion.
The authorities have said that the repression will continue, with other operations scheduled for the coming days.
Earlier, law enforcement organizations had intensified operations in several cities to facilitate the repatriation of holders of card of Afghan citizens (ACC), in particular after the end of the voluntary return period.
Many stores and offices led by Afghan in commercial areas, in particular in Peshawar, had remained closed because companies belonging to Afghan nationals closed its doors after Eid.
The authorities also carried out a national re -vivification campaign, dozens of Afghan people causing their Pakistani identity cards. A major repression was expected after April 11, with arrests likely to start soon.
In Rawalpindi, more than 50 Afghan nationals holding ACCs were held, transferred to temporary camps and had to be repatriated.
In Karachi, similar operations had taken place, with 162 ACC holders already held and led to a detention center.
The operation targeted approximately 16,138 individuals at the national level, the authorities confirming that certain people with cards of proof of registration (POR) had been published.
The repression was underway, the organizations responsible for the application of laws carrying out daily operations to ensure compliance with the government’s expulsion policy.
