We are in a slightly weird place in the world of streaming this week (from August 18 to 24). While summer and winter are starting to end in the north and southern hemispheres, the best streaming services in the world seem to hold their largest versions for the last months of the year.
This does not mean that there are no new films and television shows to catch in the coming days. According to a popular HBO Max show, returning for a long time, with three interesting offers from Netflix, you are sure to find something that deserves to be looked at with our help. So read the rest to see what is new. – Tom Power, senior entertainment journalist

Hostage (Netflix)

To watch
Suranne Jones as British Prime Minister? If I woke up tomorrow and that it was real life, I would be invented. Instead, she plays the fictitious leader Abigail Dalton in the new Netflix series HostageWhere she was confronted the first time her country while dealing with the sudden kidnapping of her doctor’s husband in French Guiana. To top it off, her visit planned with the French president Toussaint (Julie Delpy) does not go to swim … especially when she starts to be sung too.
I cannot think at a time when we have seen two women leaders in the world coexist like this, not to mention working together to overthrow the tests to which a patriarchal system constantly subjects them. I am undoubtedly in my mind that Jones was going to get it out of the park and I hope it is the beginning of its ascent to world celebrity, a bit like Sarah Lancashire HAPPY VALLEY. – Jasmine Valentine, entertainment writer
Eenie Meanie (Hulu / Disney +)

To watch
Ready or Not The star Samara Weaving leads the distribution of this new Hulu and Disney +offer, who sees her playing the role of a driver in an escapade in difficulty.
This robbery film seems perfect if you are looking for an action film this weekend, but we will have to wait and see what the critics think before we recommend it ourselves. – Lucy Buglass, senior entertainment writer
Road to a million season 2 (Video premium)

To watch
While most people were watching Cammar game: the challenge With a bait breathing (and to be fair, I too), I watched Brian Cox to make his best impression in the Subseed Video Subseed reality TV show 007: road to a million. That said, given its price to make, I am surprised that a second season is lit by Green.
Nevertheless, I do not see a series of competitions tied with that. We all wanted to try to be James Bond. Fortunately, we can experience this from the safety of our sofa while James de Wigan shouts his head trying to make money. This original Amazon TV is only dislocating from there, so attach. – Jv
To make it short (Netflix)

To watch
Bojack rider is one of Netflix’s best shows and one of my personal favorites, so you can imagine how excited I am about the new Raphael Bob-Waksberg co-creator show Long short story. The series of adult animations focuses on a Jewish family in the middle class and, more precisely, three brothers and sisters while they live on daily events while thinking about their very religious childhood.
Given Boucha was equal to hilarious and devastating, I have already been full of fabrics for the weekend. It has already been renewed for a second season too, so there will be much more to benefit in this future. – Kg
Season 3 invasion (Apple TV +)

To watch
Of the five new Apple TV + programs released in August, Invasion Season 3 is the most underestimated. But, that does not mean that I am not excited for his arrival – especially because we are ready to learn the real intentions of hostile extraterrestrials who have invaded the land.
There have been theories on the constant attacks of extraterrestrials throughout the Apple TV + SCI-Fi saga, but this season promises to finally give us answers. The creator Simon Kingberg confirmed that we will see the main characters uniting in a “discreet Avengers” scenario, so I expect a climate confrontation.
So far, Invasion saw mixed responses due to its slow combustion pace, but many are suitable that last season has improved the first considerably, which puts the third season of the original Apple TV in good place to be a show (or final) of the world. – Amelia Schwanke, senior entertainment editor
The truth about Jussie Smollett? (Netflix)

To watch
Before 2019, Jussie Smollett was known for his roles in programs like Empire and films like Powerful ducksBut has since made the headlines after being accused of having organized a hatred hoax.
The real affair has more twists and turns than a Spanish soap opera, but that did not prevent Netflix from moving forward with a 90 -minute documentary on the case. The truth about Jussie Smollett? will bring us interviews with the police, the lawyers, the journalists, the investigators and the Jussie himself to obtain the right story, which makes this THE The best way to get a true story (hopefully) on the alleged false story. – AS
