It’s time to relax after a long week of work – and what better way to do so than broadcast one or more new films and programs that have dropped this week?
Unsurprisingly, WednesdayThe second season was the conference of the city of entertainment in recent days. However, many of the best streaming services in the world also have something interesting to offer, so one of the biggest originals of Netflix TV of all time is not the only thing that is worth watching this weekend. So jump, and learn more about what has happened elsewhere. – Tom Power, senior entertainment journalist
Wednesday season 2 part 1 (Netflix)
To watch
The queen of anti-sociality, goths and macabre has returned. Wednesday Addams is back on Netflix for its second semester at the Nevermore Academy – and, since it has been almost three years that the first season of the extremely successful show has dropped, it is high time that we found the psychic adolescent.
Wednesday However, season 2 will not be an easy driving for the eponymous character of Jenna Ortega. Indeed, the official trailer for season 2 reveals that it will be in a race against time to save the life of its self-installive bestie inid Sinclair. There will also be many other intriguing sub -intrigues to unravel, the broader Addams family having a more important role to play in procedures than the last time. Hoping that one of the best outings in Netflix, the second outing is as complete and frightening as its ancestor. – TP
King of the Hill Season 14 (Hulu / Disney +)

To watch
Can you believe that the little bobby is an adult? Hank and Peggy returned to average America after a long retreat, and it is incredible how their world seems to have changed in the meantime. In reality, King of the hill has been out of our screens for 16 years and it is the perfect nostalgia dose for the week.
The Hulu and Disney + are as charming as I remember well, and managed to resume exactly where the previous seasons stopped. If you sew them together, you could hardly see the seams. Frankly, it is a massif of two fingers to all the other existing inherited suites. I promise you that this will exceed your expectations, even if you do not fully remember the entire Hank (you don’t really need it). – Jasmine Valentine, entertainment writer
Pickling (Video Prime)

To watch
I love to watch an action movie on Friday evening but, after reading the first criticisms for one of the new first -rate video films in August, I do not get my hopes for The pick-up. Presented as a robbery comedy, he associates Eddie Murphy and Pete Davidson as armored truck drivers caught in a criminal ambush.
On paper, this premium video film looks like the type of intrigue that could create fascinating action sequences – but I am not convinced that it will deliver. Given the history of Murphy with Buddy Comedies, his performance could be the only shiny spark in what could otherwise be a car accident in an Amazon film. – Amelia Schwanke, senior entertainment editor
Platonic 2 season (Apple TV +)

To watch
From the moment I saw the trailer for Platonic Season 2, I knew that the Apple TV + series was on another winner. The BFF (and things have strictly platonic) between the will of Rose Byrne and the will of Seth Rogen is exactly the kind that I hope, even if it comes with too many obstacles to the forties for two people to manage. As Apple says: “The duo does their best to be the other’s rock – but sometimes rocks break things.” It means only one thing … a huge help of delicious drama.
As far as I am concerned, tensions and fallout between two close friends strike much harder than all lovers of TIFF or bad rivalry, and there is real honesty and vulnerability that arises from laughter this summer. This is the perfect summer comedy that we have not yet been treated, if you reduce bloody accidents on the golf course. – JV
The monkey (Hulu)

To watch
Osgood Perkins scared us with the horror of a serial killer led by Nicolas Cage. LongLast year. Now he’s back with something very different. Based on a story by Stephen King, The monkey Follows the twin brothers who discover a cursed toy monkey that causes horrible dead around them.
He looks more at the bloody comic horror than the dread directly and there are very shocking moments. One of the seven new horror films on Prime Video, Shudder, HBO Max, and the more you cannot miss this month. – Lucy Buglass, senior entertainment writer
Bizarre tales (HBO Max)

Pedro Pascal has been a boy occupied lately. If he sails in the apocalypse The last of us season 2 or put your spandex for The Fantastic Four: First stepsIt has been a lot on our screens, including in this anthology film which has now been released on HBO Max.
In Bizarre tales, We follow an NBA star, a corrupt cop, a female rap duo, adolescent punks, neonazis And A debt collector takes place on a backdrop of the 80s. It is as varied as it may seem, the film showing us four interconnected stories that will not be safe. With a 74% rotten critical rating of tomatoes, it is worth checking this weekend – Kg
