Stranger Things season 5 volume 1 (Netflix)
Look on it
It’s the beginning of the end for Stranger Things – well, the main show of the supernatural sci-fi franchise. Indeed, Stranger Things 5 brings the curtain down on one of the best Netflix shows of all time. And, with Volume 1 of Season 5, which includes the first four episodes, now available on the streaming titan, the countdown to its epic and very emotional ending is in full swing.
I’ve been a huge fan of the show since its first season ended nine years ago, so I’m not ready to say goodbye just yet. With four more episodes coming in a month, it won’t be long before the end credits of this television juggernaut have finally rolled. Time to start stocking up on tissues, I say. *sniffles* – TP
Chris Hemsworth: An Unforgettable Road Trip (Hulu/Disney+)
Look on it
Surprise! There’s a heartfelt sequel to Chris Hemsworth’s Live better now docuseries with An unforgettable road trip. It does exactly what its title suggests, with the Marvel actor taking his Alzheimer’s-stricken father Craig on a memory-filled journey across Australia.
If you watched Live better nowyou’ll know that Hemsworth has been exploring ways to prolong cognitive functions (or at least make them healthier) for some time. Here, however, we are dealing with a mixture of science and sadness, facing head-on the possibility of letting go of a parent.
Is this the happiest watch on Hulu and Disney+? No, but it’s not without laughter and moments of tenderness. On the contrary, it is life-affirming, and that is much more important to me. – Jasmine Valentine, entertainment journalist
It’s Florida, Man season 2 (HBO Max)
Look on it
You may be familiar with the Florida Man trend, and this HBO Max TV Original has fun with the weird and wonderful tales of the state of Florida. The first season went well and now the anthology is back for another round.
Once again, It’s Florida, man Season 2 features candid stories of everyday Floridians that are playfully recreated by a rotating cast of actors and comedians, and you won’t believe your eyes at some of the situations that unfold. Plus, you’ll see big guest stars like Tiffany Haddish, Haley Joel Osment, Johnny Knoxville, Taika Waititi and Rita Ora. – Lucy Buglas, senior entertainment editor
The Jingle Bell Heist (Netflix)
Look on it
New Netflix films have taken on that unmistakable tinsel shine, so it’s no surprise that we have another new entry in the festive film playlist this week with The Jingle Bell Heist.
Set in London during the holidays, the film sees Olivia Holt’s retail worker and Connor Swindells’ repairman team up to pull off a department store robbery, but will they steal each other’s hearts instead? You can probably already guess where this is going…
Part crime, part seasonal romantic comedy, it’s not in the same league as something like Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, but if you want an easy festive watch, then Netflix has you covered. – Amelia Schwanke, Entertainment Editor
Prehistoric Planet: Ice Age (Apple TV)
Look on it
Finally, the Woolly Mammoth has its chance to shine on the small screen (if we exclude Ice age). The latest addition to Apple’s Prehistoric planet The TV series jumped back in time by approximately 133 million years. That’s not the only change, as Tom Hiddleston replaced David Attenborough as the off-camera narrator.
If we can overcome this crushing loss, it is absolutely incredible to see the similarities between the wildlife of yesterday and today. Simply put, think of some of the animals we have now and triple their size.
What’s most impressive is the craft itself. Prehistoric planet: ice age is made up of real locations, puppets and CGI. In a world where AI is king, that’s pretty darn special in itself. Stream it now on Apple TV. – Joint venture
The Beatles Anthology (Disney+)
Look on it
Here’s a restored and remastered version of the best Beatles docuseries ever made! The 1995 multimedia project has long been hailed as the most comprehensive look at the Fab Four – largely because the story is told in the group’s own words.
NOW, The Beatles Anthology has become an even larger experience, expanding the original eight-hour series to over 11 hours with an all-new ninth episode. This adds behind-the-scenes footage of Paul, George and Ringo coming together to work on the original project, as well as newly recorded interviews and other never-before-seen stories.

Bel-Air season 4 (Peacock)
Look on it
Bel Air Season 4 is the final season of Peacock’s reinvention of the original Fresh Prince series, so it’s time to say goodbye to the Banks family once again. The first three episodes of the eight-part season are available now, and by December 8, they’ll all be available if you want to binge-watch.
The season also has a lot to wrap up. What will Will and Carlton do after their senior year? What do Viv and Phil plan to do regarding their pregnancy? We have questions and we pray for great answers! – kg
