Ready to relax after another busy work week? You’ll want something fun to watch at home if you are.
As always, the world’s best streaming services bring gifts in the form of new movies and shows to check out – and this week’s lineup is awesome. Indeed, since the return of Netflix’s popular live-action adaptation of One piece and the official streaming debut on Zootopia 2At the biggest awards night of the year, the Oscars, there’s plenty to stream before Monday returns. Zootopia 2 (Disney+)
Look on it
Well, if it isn’t the highest-grossing Hollywood animated film ever made. Zootopia 2 has been breaking box office records like it was cracking eggs for an omelet, and it’s finally time to shine on Disney+, with unlikely police buddy duo Judy and Nick returning to tackle the mystery of a snake seen in the city for the first time in years.

Honestly, I’m still pissed that the movie isn’t called Deuxtopiabut when the moral message of a Disney movie is this good, we can’t have it all. Plus, Ke Huy Quan remains the people’s prince, and his involvement in films always means you’ll have a great time. — Jasmine Valentine, entertainment journalist
One Piece season 2 (Netflix)
Look on it
It’s time to set sail for One piece season 2 with the return of Netflix’s hit live-action adaptation. This came as a huge surprise to anime fans who have been disappointed by similar projects (*cough* Cowboy Bebop And Avatar: The Last Airbender *cough*). Fortunately, One piece behaved much better.
Its second season is also a binge-worthy affair. With this latest installment covering the Arabast arc, it’s bigger and better than ever with excellent fight scenes, laugh out loud moments, and higher stakes. There will be many others where this comes from too, like One piece season 3 is already in development. — Lucy Buglas, senior entertainment editor
Scarpetta (Prime Video)
Look on it
Nicole Kidman and Jamie Lee Curtis lead the cast of Prime Video’s intriguing new crime show Scarpette. Based on the book series by Patricia Cornwell, it follows brilliant medical examiner Dr. Kay Scarpetta (Kidman) as she uncovers mysteries and solves crimes in Florida, Virginia and South Carolina.
The series also touches on Scarpetta’s relationship with her older sister, her niece, and other key figures in her life. With a strong cast, I can see this being another hit for Amazon, especially since Cornwell already has a dedicated fan base waiting to tune in. kg
The Madison (Paramount+)
What if I told you that The Madison Is this unironically the best Taylor Sheridan show created so far? It’s not a Yellow stone a spin-off in every way, but you can still expect vulnerable family drama set against the backdrop of Montana’s most breathtaking mountain.
If Landman And Virgin River had a TV baby for Paramount+, that would be it. Indeed, the Clyburn family (led by Michelle Pfeiffer and Kurt Russell) seeks to abandon their luxurious lives in New York for the rustic hills of Montana after a family tragedy pushes them to the brink.
It’s almost annoying how good Taylor Sheridan is at writing female characters, but it’s Pfeiffer who reminds us why she should be in absolutely everything. Before you watch, find out what to expect The Madison. — Joint venture
Fukushima: A Nuclear Nightmare (HBO Max)
British documentary filmmaker James Jones is back with Fukushima: a nuclear nightmare, giving us an insight into the 2011 nuclear power plant incident. He previously did Chernobyl: the lost tapes for HBO Max, which followed the harrowing dramatization of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster, directed by The last of us showrunner Craig Mazin.
So you can be sure that this new documentary will treat the incident with the sensitivity it deserves. Featuring interviews with government advisers, power plant engineers, consultants, journalists and rescue workers, its in-depth examination of what happened will make for an incredibly moving spectacle. — kg
Virgin River season 7 (Netflix)
Look on it
Virgin River Season 7 is undeniably one of the must-see Netflix events of the year (in my opinion, anyway), but just because Mel and Jack are finally married doesn’t mean the small town drama suddenly stops.
The season 6 finale was a total shock, leaving us with five (!) huge cliffhangers that require immediate answers. Fortunately, all are resolved, but three new problems take place in the season finale. Oh, and for good measure, there’s a dream honeymoon. Virgin River season 8 when? — Joint venture
The 2026 Oscars
Look on it
Man, this year’s Oscars really got away from us, huh? The biggest, glitziest night on the entertainment calendar is here, and I’m expecting a surprise or two in some of the standout categories.
Okay, some things are a surefire bet — for example, Jessie Buckley winning Best Actress — but could we see a major shocker for other gongs among the 2026 Oscar nominees? It would be a turning point for the books if Demon Hunters Kpop didn’t win the Best Animated Film award or if, say, F1 Or Bugonia stunned everyone by winning the Best Picture award.
Whatever happens, you’ll be able to stream it live on ABC and Hulu in the US, ITV1 in the UK and 7Plus in Australia. Do you live elsewhere? Find out where to watch the 2026 Oscars where you live.
