7 passengers slaughtered in Barkhan

Quetta:

The armed men blocked the national road in the Rirkan region in Barkhan in Balutchistan and killed seven people after having withdrawn them from the passenger coaches in which they were traveling, Express News said on Tuesday.

Citing its sources, the report said that because of the incident, the Quetta administration had stopped passenger vehicles in Rakhni, Biwata and Maikhtar, adding that the assistant commissioner of Barkhan confirmed the deaths during the shooting.

The incident follows, the murder of 11 workers in an improvised explosive device (IED) blows in the Shahrag region of the Harnai district. The manager said the terrorist attack hit the vehicle while workers of coal minors went to a district market on Friday.

Friday’s attack was not the first time that coal miners have been targeted in the region. In the past, workers working in coal mines have been kidnapped and killed in similar attacks, which raises concerns about the security situation in the region.
