Bahawalnagar:
The suspects of a notorious Dacit gang which had escaped the locking of the CIA police station in Bahawalnagar were arrested after a search operation.
Three of the seven fugitives were apprehended the same night, while the other four were captured three days later.
The suspects, sought after for several cases of flight and theft, had recently been held under its number 122/25, article 395 of the Pakistan Code (PPC) in Bakshan Khan. However, instead of being legally detained, they would have been kept in police custody in the CIA police station for ten days.
Even after their reargence, the police remained close to their identity, which suspects suspicion of the legitimacy of their capture.
The escape occurred on Chand Raat, the night before Eid, when the CIA police station had left for the house, leaving only two constables, Abdullah and Ghaffar, in service. However, one of them, the gendarme Abdullah, was absent, leaving the gendarme Ghaffar to keep the whole installation.
Taking advantage of the safety spear, the suspects managed to get out of the locking and flee.
By learning the escape, the Bahawalnagar police launched a research operation involving staff of three different police stations.
A police spokesman confirmed that even if three suspects had been arrested the same night, the other four were captured after a three-day man hunt.
High police officials have taken note of the escape, ordering the SDPO Chishtian Circle to conduct an in -depth investigation. The preliminary results highlight the negligence on the part of the CIA police station and the safety keys. Sources indicate that disciplinary measures are expected against surveillance officials.
The subsequent escape and arrest of suspects have exacerbated concerns about increased crime in Bahawalnagar. In the jurisdiction of the Manchanabad police, near the Pakpattan district, the inhabitants report that the Dacoits openly require extortion.
The gang would use shots and other threats to intimidate residents in compliance. The disturbing video sequences of affected areas show helpless citizens who argue for protection, painting an image of anarchy.
Meanwhile, in the city of Bahawalnagar, incidents of violent crimes continue to increase. On Chishtian Road, a citizen was attacked and deprived of money. Another flight on the Haroonabad road left a victim without his property.
In Mohalla Farooqabad, a resident was physically attacked during an assault.
The recent transfer of the Bahawalnagar district police officer (DPO) has still shaken public confidence.
Since the appointment of the new DPO, crime rates have increased, with home officers (SHOS) and other civil servants would indulge in corruption instead of attacking criminal activities.
In 2025, Bahawalnagar pointed out more than 100 flight and aggression boxes, more than 200 motorcycle flights and more than 100 cattle and mobile phone incidents.
Citizens attending open courts to file complaints are faced with humiliation in the hands of bureaucratic mafias, which create obstacles instead of facilitating justice.
Residents claim that these sessions are simply held for photo sessions, without real intention to tackle public grievances. The initiates reveal that a powerful group of civil servants, parked in the DPO office of the district for years, has a considerable influence on police cases.
This rooted lobby would manipulate each incoming DPO, preventing real reform efforts and allowing a culture of corruption and ineffectiveness.
