9 terrorists neutralized in KP IBOs

Nine terrorists were neutralized by security forces in two separate intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in North Waziristan district, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement on Sunday.

The media wing of the Army said that the ISIS took place in Dosalli and Esham areas of the district on Saturday, adding that the slain terrorists were involved in many terrorist activities against security forces as well as the assassination targeted civilians.

“On January 11, 2025, nine Khwarij were sent to hell in two separate engagements in North Waziristan district,” the ISPR said. During the operation in the general area of ​​Dosalli, “our own troops actually engaged the Khwarij location and as a result, six Khwarij were sent to hell, while two Khwarij were apprehended.”

Another IBO was conducted in the general area of ​​Esham, the ISPR said. “After intense exchange of fire, three Khwarij were neutralized by security forces, while two Khwarij were injured. Arms and ammunition were also recovered from the killed Khwarij,” the statement added.

According to the ISPR, the terrorists killed in the IBOs “remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities against security forces as well as targeted killing of innocent civilians.” Disinfection operations are underway to “eliminate any further kharji found in the area,” as “Pakistan’s security forces are determined to eliminate the terrorist threat from the country.”

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif congratulated security forces for successfully carrying out IBOs against terrorists in North Waziristan and expressed confidence that these anti-terrorism efforts would pave the way for a future peaceful and safe for Pakistan.

In a statement, the President reaffirmed the government’s determination to completely eliminate the terrorist threat from the country. He stressed that the security forces were actively engaged in operations aimed at eradicating the scourge of terrorism, thereby ensuring the peace and security of the nation.

In a separate statement, Prime Minister Shehbaz hailed the officers and jawans of the security forces for the successful operations. He paid glowing tribute to the security forces, saying the war would continue until the country’s demon of terrorism is completely wiped out.

“The armed forces are an iron wall to defend the country against terrorists,” he said, adding, “The people of Pakistan stand with the security forces.” The Prime Minister said the officers and jawans were serving the country steadfastly, day and night.
