The Minister of Religious Affairs and Interconfessional Harmony, Sardar Mohammad Yousuf, announced Sunday that 90,000 pilgrims will go to Saudi Arabia as part of the Hajj of the Government for the 2025 season.
Speaking at a press conference at the Haji camp in Lahore, Yousuf revealed that Hajj flights would begin on April 29 and assured the public that complete arrangements were taken for the soft facilitation of pilgrims.
“The first phase of the Hajj formation was completed before Ramadan, and the second phase will take place from May 8 at the University of Punjab,” said Yousuf, noting that pilgrims from all over the country would be trained to ensure that they are fully prepared for their spiritual journey.
The Minister stressed that his visit to Lahore was to review the Hajj’s arrangements, especially since a large number of pilgrims would leave the city.
“Pilgrims are the guests of Allah, and we want to make sure that everything is in place to serve the guests of Allah to the best of our capacities,” he said.
Yousuf also mentioned that the Ministry of Religious Affairs had issued additional instructions concerning the vaccinations of pilgrims, as well as other essential preparations for their trip.
In addition, the Minister stressed that the government was aimed at providing unrivaled services to pilgrims over the next two months. He shared that he had detailed discussions with the Saudi authorities on medical services, transport and accommodation agreements for Hajj.
Yousuf also informed Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on these arrangements to ensure a season of the Hajj fluid and successful.
