New research from Vodafonethree said that SMEs focused on tourism in the United Kingdom have missed 1.5 billion pounds in income this summer due to poor connectivity.
Although three in four tourist SMEs (74%) experienced a financial increase this year compared to the summer sun, around one in five (19%) lost due to connectivity problems.
The news is confronted with Vodafone and three merged in the United Kingdom – an agreement that promised to create “one of the most advanced 5G networks in Europe”.
UK Bad connectivity
A third party (33%) of the companies involved have declared that they could develop an electronic trade, such as online purchases and click and collect, with better connectivity. Others have noted Wi-Fi improvement for customers (41%), Customer Service improved by AI (30%) and increase the use of social media for promotions and reservations (43%).
“We know that tourism plays an essential role in increasing local economies across the United Kingdom,” said Andrea DonĂ , head of the Vodafonethree chief network. “This is why Vodafonethree invests 11 billion pounds sterling to build a network that offers reliable and quality connectivity to every corner of the United Kingdom.”
Vodafonethree has promised improvements to its networks during peak periods, with a multi -park central network technology (MOCN) allowing them to go to the best available signal.
The company claims that 4G coverage will also be extended to 16,500 km from additional British regions, including rural, coastal and campaign destinations, with 71% of Vodafonethree customers who have access to the fastest 5G speeds by the end of the year.
