Former New York player Yankees and World Series champion Mark Teixeira launched his campaign for the Liberals’ House of Representatives on Thursday.

While many longtime fans of Teixeria have supported the former All-Star MLB for having shot the public service, his admission to be a “conservative for life” and his campaign principles were welcomed by certain people on the left.

Another X user wrote: “Mark Teixeira being a Maga Pos does not surprise me at all.”

A user even went so far as to call Teixeira a “bad person”, in response to his race as a republican.

“I did not know that Mark Teixeira was a bad person, but we are there,” wrote this user.

However, most of the speech surrounding Teixeira’s race on X was positive, many conservatives expressing their enthusiasm about the impact it would bring to the Congress baseball match, which the GOP has won in the past five years.

Meanwhile, on Bluesky, which is a competitor X commonly used by the Liberals, the criticisms of Teixeira’s announcement were creeping.

“These tracks. You are considered a baseball star if you succeed 30% of the time in the stick. Should be a perfect candidate for republican voters who want mediocrity even more of greatness,” wrote a Bluesky user.

“Mark Teixeira: Person of the garbage,” wrote another.

Meanwhile, another Bluesky user released a sentence that many on the left have often criticized when applied to athletes who are expressed to support liberal causes.

Teixeira will appear for the 21st District of the Texas Congress in the American House. His announcement follows the decision of the representative Chip Roy not to request his re -election while he presents himself for the Office of the Attorney General of Texas.

Teixeira published an official declaration on social networks, saying that he was “ready to help defend the first program of President Trump, the families of Texas and individual freedom”.

“As a proud Texan and life conservative who loves our country, I am ready to fight for the principles that make Texas strong and exceptional America,” said the press release. “You need teamwork to win, and I am ready to help defend the first agenda of President Trump, the families of Texas and individual freedom.”

Teixeira, 45, played 14 seasons in the majors. He made his debut with the Texas Rangers In 2003 and continued to play for the Braves of Atlanta, the Los Angeles Angels and in particular the New York Yankees.

Teixeira won a winner of the Silver Slugger Award and ended his career with an average of the stick of .269 and 409 circuits. He was a winner of Gold Glove and member of the 2009 World Series championship team of the Yankees.

The race is scheduled for November 2026, with a primary planned for March.
