- Three new espresso machines from Breville ‘Barista’: Slimline, Classic and Sense
- Barista Slimline is an affordable entry -level model with a compact imprint
- Barista Classic and Sense are both mid -range bean machines
If you have thought of buying your first coffee maker or upgrading your existing, you are lucky – Breville has just launched a range of three new espresso machines, with one for each level of budget and experience.
(This is the British company Breville, which is not linked to the American company of the same name whose products are of “wise” brand in the United Kingdom.)
The smallest of the new trio, the Breville Barista Slimline espresso machine, is only 6.1 inches / 15.5 cm wide, with a standard 58 mm portafilter. It works using a set of simple physical buttons, which facilitates control and has a cleaning program with a practical button to empty the group and the screen between beers. It costs £ 239.99 and is available on Amazon or from Currys.
Its size, its price and its specifications are all similar to the popular style of’longhi dedica, so I am curious to see how the two compare themselves in practice.
Bean
Then, the classic espresso machine from Breville Barista, at a price of £ 499.99 and available exclusively at Currys. This model has a conical burning shredder with an automatic dose to make sure you get exactly the right amount of coffee in your filter basket and antistatic technology to prevent land from browsing your kitchen and hang on the machine (always a frustrating problem).
This is almost the same price as the Luxe Café ninja, which is currently on sale for £ 499.99 at Currys, but with antistatic technology and without automatic milk vapor.
Finally, there is the Breville Barista Sense espresso machine, which is on sale for £ 599.99 at Currys and on Amazon. He has the same burr crusher as the Barista Classic, but with the addition of an intelligent steam wand, which can automatically stop your milk once it reaches a certain temperature to avoid accidental overheating (which can cause a taste of unwanted cream).
The baguette can create different textures depending on the type of drink you want (fine and fluid microfoam for slats and dryer foam for cappuccinos for example), and is optimized both for vegetable and dairy milk.
You can also adjust the machine’s pressure profile to adapt coffee extraction to your tastes, which is an unusual and welcome feature at this price.
