CDA accuses employees of obtaining employment with false documents, FIA launches investigation
The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has accused 58 employees of obtaining employment using fake educational certificates. The Anti-Corruption Circle of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Islamabad, has filed an official case and launched a probe into deceptive hiring practices.
According to the case, the accused obtained jobs ranging from grades 5 to 14 through illegal means, thereby violating the provincial merit quota during the recruitment process. They had secured jobs as security guards, drivers, elevator operators and tubewell operators.
The case marks the latest in a series of recruitment scandals within the CDA, highlighting ongoing concerns about the authority’s internal checks and balances.
In 2017, the CDA took action against five officials accused of submitting fake matriculation and higher secondary education certificates. Formal FIRs were registered against the accused.
As part of enforcing its service regulations, the authority dismissed six civil servants in 2019 after they were found to have false educational testimonies.
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) is currently investigating the accused and further developments are awaited. This latest case raises significant concerns about the CDA’s recruitment process and its ability to ensure transparency and fairness in recruitment.
