Ancient Grand Theft Auto technical director Obbe Vermeij spoke about the different Grand Theft Auto 6 delays.
In a recent interview with Gameshub, Vermeij said it “frustrates” him to see games announced too soon.
“There are people who map the whole city from the trailers. Good for them. It’s a bit of fun,” he said. “This is obviously not intentional with GTA6. They didn’t really expect any delays. ยป
He then highlighted the next Ancient scrolls 6 as an example of a game being revealed too early: “when they start talking about it years and years before it comes out, I think it’s frustrating because by the time it comes out, you’re sick of it.”
“It’s much better if they announce a game and it comes out six months later,” he continued. “I try not to waste time […] thinking of GTA6. I’m just looking forward to the day it comes out.”
Vermeij left Rockstar in 2009, after working at the studio for over a decade. He is credited as technical director in several major areas Grand Theft Auto games including 3, Vice city, San Andreas, And 4.
He is currently working on the PC indie game Heartywith a demo available on Steam.
