- Images of the DJI Avata 360 leaked online again
- This will be DJI’s first 360-degree drone
- It may feature a single-lens mode for standard filming
A new leak regarding the DJI Avata 360 has appeared online β it will be DJI’s first 360-degree camera drone, expected in the very near future β and it points to an advantage the flying machine could have over its rival Antigravity A1 from Insta360.
The leak comes courtesy of seasoned tipster @Quadro_News and shows some unofficial photos of the DJI Avata 360 (see below), as well as a selection of accessories. We can see for example the standard DJI RC controller.
There’s a photo of the DJI RC showing live footage from the drone, which suggests it will feature a single-lens mode. In other words, you’ll be able to use just one of the lenses to take standard photos and videos without 360 degrees.
This trick will apparently come courtesy of a rotating camera unit. Both the up- and down-facing lenses will capture 360-degree video, and it appears the unit itself will rotate 90 degrees to face either of these lenses for single-lens video.
This is something the Antigravity A1 doesn’t have: its lenses are fixed and it can only film 360 degrees. If you’re trying to make a decision between these two drones, it’s worth considering, although of course, nothing is confirmed yet regarding the DJI Avata 360.
The Avata 360 being part of DJI’s FPV drone family could also mean its flight speeds and aerial maneuvers surpass those of the somewhat pedestrian Antigravity A1.

One of the two leaked images also shows a battery charging hub of the type typically included in Fly More Combo packs, with three batteries charged. We’ve already heard about some of the packages that might be available with this drone.
We’ve heard a lot of rumors around the DJI Avata 360 so far, and it looks like it will be heavily based on the DJI Avata 2 launching in April 2024. Considering the number of leaks we’ve already seen, a launch for this drone can’t be far away now.
We expect to see 8K video recording capabilities, with two 1/1.1-inch CMOS sensors β likely the same ones used by the DJI Osmo 360 action camera β and a more powerful battery than that expected by DJI Avata 2. Obstacle avoidance and a tracking mode have also been mentioned by those in the know.
Of course, in the background of all this is the ban on new DJI products that just came into effect in the US β so the DJI Avata 360 won’t be available there. For the rest of us, it seems like the wait is almost over.
