King Charles’ office paid tribute to Queen Camilla as she delivered an emotional speech amid Prince Harry’s testimony, in which he accused the media of making Meghan Markle’s life “absolute misery”.
Camilla, 78, shared her thoughts during a visit to cancer charity Maggie’s Cheltenham center in Gloucestershire on Wednesday, marking the organisation’s 30th anniversary.
Buckingham Palace shared a video of the Queen’s visit with a heartwarming message as she met several people to hear about their experiences.
She also unveiled a portrait of herself by distinguished artist Eileen Hogan, which was gifted to Maggie and will go on display at the Cheltenham centre.
Camilla, who is president of the charity, met with NHS and center staff as well as people with cancer to find out how they have been supported by Maggie’s.
During her speech, the Queen said it was a “tremendous pleasure” to return to the center of Cheltenham to celebrate the association’s 30th anniversary.
“I remember being slightly nervous as we approached the Western General Hospital, expecting a rather formal and clinical atmosphere,” she continued.
