Tim Grant of Deus X Capital only wants real discussions when speaking to others in the crypto industry.

Led by CEO Grant, Deus X started with approximately $1 billion in assets and operates globally with offices in London, Malta and the United Arab Emirates. Grant will speak at CoinDesk’s Consensus Hong Kong conference in February 2026.

The Company deploys capital through private equity, venture capital, venture origination and fund allocation, supporting and building innovative businesses that span everything from trading infrastructure and brokerage-as-a-service platforms to digital asset businesses.

“What I saw was a powerful new set of tools and the ability to address those inefficiencies in a practical way, faster settlement, lower costs, greater transparency, not by replacing traditional finance, but by integrating with it,” Grant said of his entry into crypto.

At the start of his career and without any prior knowledge of bitcoin or blockchain, he said he had the chance to meet the management teams of Ripple and Coinbase (COIN) in San Francisco, and that’s where everything changed for him. By the end of 2015, he was in the digital assets space and has been there ever since.

“Our growth strategy at Deus “We believe the combination of investing and operating is a powerful combination when it comes to achieving growth and generating strong risk-adjusted returns.”

Grant said this means building, supporting and operating companies across multiple levels of the digital finance stack, from payments and treasury to institutional DeFi, premium services, market infrastructure and execution tools.

For Grant, consensus is about substance rather than spectacle, he said, and given his broad portfolio of investments and businesses, he said companies always operate across the spectrum, both as a provider of capital and as an investor in their own businesses.

“We are looking to collaborate with institutions, regulators and builders who are focused on deploying digital finance in production, particularly around regulated payments, treasury, tokenization, prime services and institutional DeFi,” he said.
