- Arc Raiders players can sign up for the second expedition on February 25 and leave on March 1.
- Embark Studios is adjusting the required pool value amount from 5 million coins to 3 million following player feedback.
- A new skill point catch-up system is added for players who failed to collect the required coins during the first expedition.
The second Arc Raiders Shipping begins next month and Embark Studios is changing a few things based on player feedback, including an adjustment to the required cache value.
The studio shared the details in a new blog post, confirming that players will be able to sign up for the second expedition starting February 25, with departure scheduled for March 1.
But before that, Embark has some new updates that might help experienced players and those new to expeditions. After listening to player feedback, the developer is reducing the required pool value from 5 million coins to 3 million to reach the maximum rewards.
“To begin with, we want to make an announcement up front: We have heard your feedback regarding the required pool value for max rewards being too high, and have decided to lower the requirement to 3 million coins (600,000 per skill point). The reward will still be 5 skill points to reach the pool value of 3 million,” Embark said.
As the studio explains, this means players need 600,000 coins per skill point, as opposed to the previous requirement of one million, which is a significant nerf that should come in handy when preparing for the next expedition.
In addition to this change, players who failed to collect the required coins during the first expedition will be able to recover those they missed thanks to the new skill point catch-up system.
“Catch-up skill points will be heavily reduced, reducing the total parts needed to reach maximum skill points for each expedition,” Embark said. “Amass the full value of the Stash and take advantage of your skill points before anyone else. If you fail to do so, the catch-up system will allow you to close the gap over time.
“For this expedition, you will need to gather 300,000 reserve points per skill point missing from the first expedition. Initially, the coins will contribute to the skill points from the second expedition, before contributing to the missing skill points from the first.”
Embark noted, however, that rewards and requirements “may change for future expeditions and bonus skill points will not be available indefinitely to those who continue to set out.”
Some of the permanent rewards from the second expedition include a new Scrappy outfit, an upgraded Patchwork outfit, which will get four additional options and two new color options, as well as stacked buffs from the previous expedition (but will reset for those who decide not to go again).
Players returning for their second expedition will also gain 5% more XP, totaling 10%, an increase in Scrappy Materials by 6% (12% total), and an increase in Repair Value by 10% (70% total).
The “Expeditions Explained” image released by Embark also confirms that a third expedition is in the works, with “more to come.”
