Prince Harry and Meghan Markle appeared to have remained uncharacteristically silent as the royal family faced the inevitable downfall of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor – dragged away by police on the morning of his 66th birthday.
Since the arrest which took place on Thursday, members of the royal family appear to be in crisis mode, ensuring they carry out their duties and remain focused on their work. King Charles also issued a statement to reassure the public that “the law will take its course”, even if it is for his brother.
Although there has been no official response from Sussex’s office, the Duchess of Sussex hinted at a celebration just days after the arrest. On Saturday, the As Ever founder shared a simple, effortless tip for planning a special party and the best way to toast.
“A simple accommodation tip we always come back to,” the caption read. “Chill your brut well, pour slowly and finish with a few fresh raspberries for garnish. Effortless, unpretentious and just festive enough for an easy evening or before a fun night out.”
The timing doesn’t appear to be just a coincidence, as Meghan has learned some royal tips regarding subtle messaging. Plus, it’s an interesting choice of words, alluding to old wounds they faced at the hands of the royal family.
Harry wrote in his memoirs Spare and made his feelings clear about his shameful uncle and the unfair treatment he and his family received when they left the royal family.
“He was involved in a shameful scandal, accused of sexually assaulting a young woman, and no one even suggested he would lose his security,” Harry wrote.
“Whatever grievances people had against us, sex crimes were not on the list.”
