Pakistan leader Tehreek-e-insaf (PTI), Omar Ayub, criticized Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, accusing him of being only ready for negotiations when an “order” arrives, Express News reported.
Addressing the media outside of an anti -terrorist courtyard of Sargodha on Friday, he described the role of the PM as that of a “servant or clerk”, affirming that he has no real power.
Ayub said PTI came to power by the public’s mandate, but stressed government policies as the main cause of increasing inflation. He also said that the Pakistani peoples’ party (PPP) would probably accept the water distribution agreements at the expense of the Sindh people.
The PTI chief also expressed a strong disapproval of recent changes to Pakistan Electronic Crimes Act (PECA), declaring that the government limits freedom of expression.
He accused the PPP of hypocrisy, noting that if the party once opposed the law of PECA, it has now become silent on the issue. He said that the notion of press freedom or even freedom of expression in Pakistan has ceased to exist, with media personnel unable to speak or write freely.
Ayub also said that PTI has no hope of the United States or the United Kingdom, in particular in the context of the Pakistan political crisis.
He called on article 6 to be invoked against the former chief commissioner of the Sikandar Sultan Raja elections, accusing him of helping current leaders in the election.
In addition, Ayub stressed that despite the repeated apparitions of PTI before the court, they are not clear about the accusations brought against them.
He also criticized the government’s inaction, claiming that his letter requesting the training of a parliamentary committee had not yet received a response from the PM. He swore that PTI did not allow the question of delaying more.
