Pakistan Railways has introduced a new ticket reimbursement policy, which will also apply to tickets purchased via the “Raabta” application, Express News reported.
According to the notification issued by the railways of Pakistan, passengers who buy tickets at the point of sale of railways (POS) can receive a refund up to 90% if they are canceled 48 hours before departure from train.
If it is canceled 24 to 48 hours before departure, 80% of the amount will be reimbursed and if it is canceled within 24 hours of departure, 70% will be reimbursed.
Passengers can also obtain a 50% refund within 2 hours of departure from the train. If the train is delayed by 6 hours or more, a full refund will be provided.
Refunds for POS tickets will only be available in the respective counters where tickets have been purchased.
To claim the refund, passengers must submit the original note and a copy of their identity card, after which they will receive the slip and the cancellation of cancellation.
For online tickets, reimbursements can only be processed via the same online service used for payment.
The same reimbursement policy also applies to online tickets. No refund will be issued after the train departure, but if the cancellation occurs less than 90 minutes before departure, a 50% refund will be granted.
