The president of Pakistan meets Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang, discusses key issues

President Asif Ali Zardari held a meeting on Thursday with the first Li Qiang from China to Beijing to discuss the “sustainable and deeply rooted strategic cooperative partnership” between the two countries.

Reunion, held at the Greater People’s Hall, has strengthened the commitment of the two leaders to strengthen bilateral links, Express News reported.

In a joint declaration, the two leaders recognized the historical friendship between Pakistan and China, which was constantly fortified by successive generations.

President Zardari reiterated the determination of Pakistan to further improve the relationship, emphasizing regional connectivity and economic growth.

“The Chinese-Pakistani Economic Corridor (CPEC) has played a central role in promoting regional links and promoting economic development,” said President Zardari, stressing the strategic importance of the two nations initiative.

Managers also discussed the expansion of cooperation under CPEC 2.0, in particular in fields such as renewable energies, science and technology, infrastructure and agriculture.

“China’s continuous support for the Pakistan development program is crucial, and we are committed to deepening our collaboration in these key sectors,” said President Zardari.

The two parties also addressed the potential of the increase in commercial and economic cooperation through commitments to the business and private sectors sector. They agreed to promote the exchange of people to the higher person and cultural to further consolidate the bilateral relationship.

As part of the current collaboration, several understanding memoranda (MOUS) were signed between Pakistan and China during the visit.

Mous understands the agreements between Thitta Cement Company of Pakistan and the Chinese Ching gang construction group, aimed at increasing the production of cement in Pakistan by an additional 5,000 tonnes per day.

A memorandum of understanding has also been signed between the Sindh energy department and the Chinese company of renewable Energies Meng Yang to explore joint renewable energy projects in Pakistan.

In addition, a coal gas and urea production plant project between the Sindh government and a Chinese company was also formalized.

The signing ceremony was followed by main Pakistani officials, including the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ishaq Dar, as well as the chief minister of Sindh Murad Ali Shah.
