- One in two IT manager wants to combat the experiences of employees this year
- 89% of companies need a digital overhaul to benefit from AI
- Lenovo says slow down, simplify and personalize first
According to new research from Lenovo, less than half of employees believe that their current digital work solutions effectively support productivity, commitment and innovation – raising questions about how organizations support workers.
Only only one (36%) believe that their systems support the commitment of employees “very effectively”, with half (49%) of IT leaders citing the creation of an experience of productive and engaging employees as an absolute priority this year.
Despite the promises of artificial intelligence, Lenovo says that there is a lot of work to do before companies can fully benefit from technology.
Improve employee experience with technology
Four out of five IT managers (79%) believe that AI will allow employees to focus on more significant work, but Lenovo says that an overwhelming majority (89%) of organizations must revise their digital workplace to unlock the full potential of AI.
Although there are certain use cases for AI tools in collaboration, such as virtual co-automatizing and translation in real time, technology has more value in unlocking workers’ creativity, innovative work and problem solving by automating repetitive tasks. AI information also promises to rationalize workflows, improve efficiency and speed up normal daily operations.
In addition, IT leaders recognize that a highly personalized digital workplace is essential (63%), but they find it difficult to exceed current approaches of a single size due to a lack of configurable devices and applications.
“The transformation of your workplace is essential to the effective use of AI,” said Lenovo Digital Workplace Solutions VP and GM Rakshit Ghura. “AI changes productivity rules, but to achieve its potential, IT managers must work alongside their management teams to rethink how AI can increase the levers for creating their organization and competitive differentiation.”
For the future, Lenovo advises companies to simplify and personalize their employee experiences with tailor -made tools and workflows. The next step is to automate certain IT processes to release resources for greater value tasks, then use a generative AI to generate additional innovation.
