Islamabad:
The senatorial committee of law on law and justice adopted the Civil Court bill on Wednesday on Wednesday (amendment), 2025. The law committee was summoned under the presidency of Senator Farooq Hamid Naek to examine and discuss several key legislative bills.
The Committee adopted the Civil Court bill (amendment), 2025, as the Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar, Minister of Law and Justice. The bill, which had already been adopted by the National Assembly, aims to reduce the growing burden on disputes on the appeal side of the High Court of Islamabad.
The bill aims to resolve the growing question of the suspension before the High Court of Islamabad, which was exacerbated by the increase in real estate prices in the territory of Islamabad.
As the assessments of property now exceed twenty-five hundred thousand rupees, a significant number of first regular calls against orders and decrees of the civil court increased the workload.
Senator Tarar highlighted the need to ensure that the district courts entertain such questions, thus reducing the pressure on the call of the High Court of Islamabad.
The Committee also addressed the question of delay in the notification of the appointment of Senator Hamid Khan as a member of the Council of Governors of the Legal Assistance and Justice Authority.
Senator President Faroo Hamid Naek has ordered that the appointment is informed as soon as possible and that the committee will be updated on progress.
The Senate organization has embarked on a detailed discussion concerning the “Constitution bill (amendment), 2024”, presented by Senator Munzoor Ahmed and Daneh Kumar. The bill, which aims to modify article 51 of the Constitution, was debated by the ministry’s contribution.
The committee took note of the conclusions of the population census in 2023, which revealed that the Christian community is mainly concentrated in Punjab, while the Hindu community is largely based in the Sindh.
This geographical disparity could make challenges if each province is designated as a single district for the minority reserved seats.
The chairman of the committee advised a more in -depth examination of the bill on the basis of the population data and in the relevant legal framework. The bills of the bill asked for more time to consider the modifications.
Likewise, the Committee deliberated on the “Bill on Constitution (amendment), 2024”, presented by Senator Khalida Ateeb. This bill was postponed due to the lack of support from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government and the outstanding comments from other provincial governments.
The “Constitution bill (amendment), 2024”, moved by Senator Aon Abbas, which proposes the creation of a new Southern Punjab province, has also been deferred.
In addition, the “Constitution bill (amendment), 2024”, presented by Senator Muhammad Abdul Qadir, which proposes an amendment to article 27 concerning quotas, was deferred for a more in -depth examination.
The chairman of the committee expressed the need to examine the previous judgments of the Supreme Court at the time of time for quotas before the procedure.
