Thousands of people enter a spiritual retirement while Aetekaf begins

Karachi:

Aetekaf refers to a spiritual retreat or ritual isolation in a mosque in the last 10 days of the sacred month of Ramazan when the faithful devoted themselves to worship and to remain far from the affairs of the world.

Like every Ramazan, hundreds of thousands of karachites will start respect for Aetekaf today, Friday, after the ASR prayers. This religious retreat is undertaken with the intention of seeking spiritual purification and proximity to Allah. The Aetekaf period will end with the observation of the Shawwal Moon, which marks the end of Ramazan.

A number of mosques have made special arrangements to accommodate the mutakafeen (those who observe Aetekaf). Among these mosques, a new Mosque Memon, the Faran mosque, the Jamia mosque, the Jinnah mosque, the Jinnah mosque, the Gulzar-E-Habib mosque, the Fazan Madina mosque, the Thanvi mosque and the Jamia mosque on the Amjadiya Alamgir path, among others.

Installations for Aetekaf are also provided in the center of the exhibition, at the Khaliq Dina Hall, at the Rehmaniya mosque on Tariq Road, at the Baitul Mukarram mosque in Gulshan-E-Iqbal, Jamia Masjid, Banuri Town and many others throughout the city. In some places, women have also had the opportunity to observe Aetekaf at home.

Mutikafeen’s recording process was completed at the start of Ramazan in most mosques. In many of these mosques, SEHAR and IFTAR provisions were also organized for those who observed Aetekaf.

Throughout the Aetekaf period, the Mukafeen engages in worship activities, including Shabina (night prayers), Taraweeh, Nawafil and special supplications. The emphasis will be placed on the search for blessings of Shab-E-QADR, in particular strange nights. Mutikafeen will offer prayers for the prosperity and stability of the nation.
