- Horizonos V76 was deployed on the public test channel
- This beta version teases new features that Meta works on
- In future updates, we can expect major changes in the user interface and with shareable windows
Meta has just launched the Horizonos V76 update of its public test channel, and the beta software is already teasing massive changes so that you can use your Meta Quest 3 helmet to socialize practically.
Firstly, Meta puts your avatera horizon before and in the center in video calls, finally unlocking the selfie camera – a feature that he first teased at Meta Connect 2022. You can previously take zoom meetings from your virtual workspace, but with the V76 update, you will be able to use your Meta Avatar in more relaxed video calls via Whatsapp and Messenger.

In the settings, you can see your selfie camera options to adjust how narrow or wide the virtual camera is, and you can select a static background that will appear behind your character.
Then, when you join the video calls when using your helmet, other people will see your avatar move when you move. However, people who have tested the development tool say that it is still limited.
“ Development ” is certainly the key description here, because Selfie Cam always feels very limited, so it can take a little time before reaching the wider public exit from Horizonos.
In addition, when he does, Meta could move it to be an “ experimental functionality ”, which is a designation given to the functionalities available in the full version of Horizonos, but it could still be a little buggy.

The V76 update in the PTC also hides details on the possibility of sharing your screen with other Meta Quest users.
The functionality is not yet live, but the code channels (discovered by Luna) suggest that the 2D window panels will win a “Share” and “without sharing” button so that you can display other people in the Horizon Home or Horizon worlds (and perhaps other multiplayer applications) what you look at in your browser.
Quest 3 already has the possibility of capturing YouTube content, and this version seems to be a more general deployment of this tailor -made functionality so that other 2D applications can be shared.
Given its current state in the PTC update, screen sharing can be updated or two. However, when it arrives, it can be joined by a massive revision of the user interface.
The code name ‘Navigator’ Luna shared a short five -second clip of a tutorial for the new provision – which demo meta at Meta Connect 2024.

Luna added that he should fall into V77 or later, so it is always a version or two of the launch, but these first clues suggest that the launch of the overhaul.
We will have to wait and see if this overhaul of the user interface is what quest 3 always needs or one of these terrible changes which will make us begged the meta to put everything back as it was.
From what we have seen, it should be the first, but we will not know as long as the Navigator user interface is available for everyone (let’s hope it later this year).
