Since there is a lack of competition in social applications for players, Discord is the only platform on which the most counts to communicate with online friends, which is undoubtedly not the best circumstance given the current negative consensus against its Nitro payment wall and the recent limits of functionality. However, a new update has arrived that could put discord back in the right user books.
In a new video on YouTube (available below), Discord has announced a whole new superposition of considerably revised games which will allow users to access a certain number of application features during the game, without ever having to leave the window of the open game. This is a large upgrade of the original superposition (now called “inherited superposition”), which only presented user name beacons in an active server in any corner of the screen, as well as access to a fast text cat.
From now on, Discord has maintained the basic name functionality while adding innovative features in a new “action bar” – such as harmony and call table commands, a video chat window for users on the camera, and the same for streaming, in one place. This allows you to look at several flows and get involved with friends via the superposition of the game. It is important to note that the fast text cat function has apparently been deleted, rather replaced by the notification window (which gives you the opportunity to respond to messages).
Essentially, it is a revolutionary feature that could greatly contribute to helping users to keep all their activities on a single screen without the need for alt-TAB between programs. More importantly, Discord claims that the performance impact streaming has been on games has now disappeared, because streaming now uses a new rendering method that uses the Discord customer to maintain the action for friends.
To watch
It’s not perfect, but it’s really a fantastic start
For players like me, Discord is an essential element to enjoy the games while staying in contact with friends. Although it has its ups and downs – especially random bugs during server calls – this is probably the best update of the platform that I have seen for some time.
I no longer need to keep my TV connected to my PC to watch flow of friends while I play, because I can easily do it on the same screen now. My concern was that the flows would be too disruptive for my gameplay, but fortunately, the windows can be resized at will, which is absolutely ideal for intense and competitive games.
It is certainly not Perfect At the moment: the response option to SMS via the notification window is missing the option for emojis, and this is the new superposition of the game is only functional in games where it should have an option to choose different applications that are not recognized by Discord (I know it is called that it is called game Superposition, but still).
Anyway, this is an excellent start for a very necessary overhaul for the popular PC game application, and the great thing is that many of the omissions I mentioned will probably be added thanks to future updates. I just need something else: Discord, allow deaf users in the servers to access the harmony table. Please?
