Power plants belonging to the government require a reduction in prices

Islamabad:

Four electricity power plants belonging to the government also filed requests from the energy regulator for the reduction of tariff components.

The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) should hear these requests filed by the Central-Garantie Power Power Agency (CPPA-G) on April 24.

In an opinion published in the newspapers, the NEPRA informed all stakeholders, those interested or affected and the general public that he admitted the joint requests filed by the CPPA-G for reduction of tariff components:

The power plants that have submitted requests are the National Power Parks Management Company (Balloki); The National Power Parks Management Company (Haveli Bahadur Shah); The Central Power General Company Limited and Northern Power General Company Limited (Nandipur).

Electricity companies have requested a revision of the O&M indexing mechanism.

The O&M indexing mechanism refers to the method used to adjust the operating and maintenance costs of a project or service over time, generally in long -term contracts such as those in the energy sectors. The objective is to ensure that the service provider is paid fairly despite inflation.

Companies have also requested an insurance ceiling at 0.80% / 0.90% of the approved cost in terms of engineering, supply and construction (EPC). This means that the cost of project insurance cannot exceed 0.80% or 0.90% of the total value of the approved EPC contract.
