Dyson Airwrapes are not cheap. If you are looking to protect your investment by making yours last as long as possible, this article is there to help you.
It is also the week of sustainability here in Techradar, and we are looking for ways to make your habit of gadget more respectful of the environment. Finding ways to repair, modernize or otherwise avoid having to buy a brand new Airwrap is not only a victory for your banking balance is better for the planet.
We spoke to a Dyson spokesperson for the brand’s approach in terms of sustainability, and they told us that its first priority was to ensure that everything is designed to last in the first place.
“During development, Dyson relies on in -depth tests – the products are deleted more than 5,000 times, digital engines operate up to 20,000 hours and the machines suffer sustainability tests to ensure that the machine remains without compromise and is difficult, tests at the point of failure,” said the spokesperson. “By focusing on longevity and supporting repairability thanks to modular conceptions, Dyson helps customers keep their devices used longer.”
Hopefully your Airwrap should be built to stay – we have certainly been impressed by the quality of construction when we tested it for our Dyson Airwrap identification exam. However, if you want to upgrade, replace, replace or recycle it, read the rest for how to do it …
# 1. Improve your accessories
If you had an older ventilation and you are dismayed to see better accessories appear with more recent models (for example, by comparing Dyson Airwrap VS Airwrap, the latter has a new frightening loop barrel), you can set up your original Airwrap by buying new additional modules separately. It is also a good cry if one of your accessories breaks.
For authentic Dyson parts, you must head directly to the accessory store on the Dyson site. Here you can buy different barrels of form and size, or go to a bidirectional barrel if you have made your initial purchase when it was still separate in the hour and in the advance direction. There are also different brush fasteners and even accessory beams.
As you can expect, Dyson’s official accessories are rather expensive – although much cheaper (and more durable) than buying a brand new Airwrap. Also note that what is available will vary depending on the country – American and Australian stores are much better supplied than the British store at the time of writing.

We have spotted accessories fooled via sites like Amazon, but unless you are really desperate, we recommend that you avoid avoiding them and opting for the real thing. You never know what you get, and if it turns out to be a quality of waste or incompatible, then you will enter the West West of Amazon Returns.
# 2. Replace the broken parts
In addition to an accessory store, Dyson also sells spare parts for many of its products. There are actually not many mobile parts to the Airwrap – apart from the accessories that we have covered above – but you should be able to pick up a replacement filter cage if yours breaks.
It is also the ideal place if you want to recover a housing or a travel job for your Airwrap. The first could be a good idea for protective purposes, if you do not have somewhere safely to store your styller, as well as its accessories.

# 3. Clean the monthly filter
According to Dyson, the cause of the vast majority of Airwrap problems is that you have neglected to keep the filter clean. You should clean your filter, following the detailed process below, monthly – or failure, when the LED filter light begins to flash you continuously.
- Disconnect the machine and let it cool completely
- Slide the filter cage on the cord and open it
- Pass the brush C through the power cord to start cleaning
- Pivot the brush C from top to bottom of the filter mesh or use a soft dry toothbrush to remove dust and debris (don’t do it Use water or chemicals to clean the mesh of the filter itself)
- Gently wipe the C Brush to clean it
- Loosen the debris of the filter cage using the Bush C Sec
- Bring the filter cage to a sink (don’t do it Bring the rest of the machine with – Let yourself be far from the water)
- Rinse the filter cage and the brush c under hot running water
- Apply a quantity of clarifying shampoo on pea size on the C-Brush
- Lightly rub the filter cage using the brush in C circular movements and from top to bottom to eliminate stubborn accumulation
- Rinse for 20 seconds to make sure that all the shampoo has disappeared from the filter cage
- Shake the filter cage gently to remove excess water, then dried with a paper towel
- Hold the filter cage to the light to check that it is completely clean
- Allow all the parts, including the filter cage, carefully drying before going up (don’t do it Go up the machine while all the parts are still damp)
- Cut the filter cage on the machine.
# 4. Have all other problems
There is an assistance section on the Dyson website designed to help if something is wrong. Here you can download the user manual for various versions of the Airwrap.
There is also a click troubleshooting section, covering problems such as product poor performance, electrical defects and odors or unusual noises. Some of the solutions offered are common sense, but it can always be useful to make sure you don’t miss anything obvious.
If you need additional help, there is a customer support line or you can access the support via Live Cat or WhatsApp (UK only).

# 5. Repair it
Yes … in a way. It seems to vary depending on the product and by the country.
In the United Kingdom, Dyson offers a repair service, where it will collect your machine, remove it and repair it for you. This is free if the machine is under warranty (two years from purchase), or £ 99 otherwise.
On the Dyson UK website, it is not clear if the aerromes are included – the page can be read
However, our Dyson spokesperson told us this repair was An option for Airwraps: “Repairs, replacements and parts are covered for free for problems caused by normal use or manufacturing defects via the two -year warranty. For products outside Warranty, repair services paid with real Dyson parts are available.
In the United States, Dyson will cover repairs of products under warranty, but it is not an option if it is after this period. Again, it is not clear if hair tools like the Airwrap are included, because the whole language on the site focuses on the vacuum cleaners.
In Australia, you can also try the product for 45 days, and if you don’t get it, you can turn it over (with original packaging, in an original condition) for free. We have found no mention of repair options in Australia.

# 6. Buy renovated
If your current Airwrap is not recoverable or if you are looking for a more concerned (and affordable) option for your first purchase, then plan to buy a renovated model.
“Dyson gives their machines a second life by extending their sustainability efforts thanks to renovated machines,” the spokesperson explained to us. “They are tested of quality and use real Dyson replacement parts.”
Sometimes you will find renovated Dyson products sold directly via Dyson, but a better place to watch is the brand’s official ebay store. This usually has a wide range of certified renovated devices, and there is also a relatively fast turnover of products – it is worth checking if the aerodrome you want is not available the first time you look.
Ebay has a well -established renovation system. Based on the experience of this writer and other customers’ criticisms, it is a reliable and simple place to pick up the preheaded electronics.
Can you recycle a Dyson Airwrap?
If you buy a new Dyson Airwrap, and you have an old one you don’t want any more or that you no longer need, you may be able to restore your old to Dyson to recycle-at the United Kingdom at least.
“To recycle your old machine, you can bring it to a Dyson demonstration store within 28 days of purchase your new Dyson machine, show us the reception or order confirmation e-mail, and it can be recycled free of charge,” said our British spokesperson. “The returned machine must be of the similar type or has completed the same function as the new item purchased.”
You can also recycle old aircraft in the same way as you would on other small electrical devices. This will vary according to the country and the region. If you are in the United Kingdom, it is a very useful tool for finding your local recycling, donation or repair options for electricity (the aeron is not listed, but we suspect that it will be treated in the same way as the dryer, which is).
