- Colorful has two new RTX 5060 gaming laptops on the horizon
- Benchmarks have disclosed, which indicates a waist jump on the laptop GPU RTX 4060
- 8 GB of GDDR7 VRAM may be enough for laptop and desktop GPUs
We are still awaiting the launch of NVIDIA RTX 5060 GPU, a GPU that should complete the Blackwell Green GPU range (at least, before the Super Models). Now we have an early overview of the laptop version of the performance of this GPU, which could strongly indicate what the office counterpart has to offer.
As reported by Videocardz, the manufacturer of Chinese laptops Colorful has two new NVIDIA RTX 5060 laptops on the way. More importantly, the benchmarks have already disclosed (photo below) for the two systems; The colored Igame M15 Origo and the Colorful P15, which also use the powerful Ultra 9 285H and Core i9-13900HX processors of Intel respectively.
Using the OPENCL API (used in general IT applications), the IGAME M15 Origo obtained 102,564 points while the P15 PRO reached 109,431 points. It should be noted that there are no disclosed Vulkan benchmarks, which is a graphic API commonly used in many triple-a games, so these scores do not give us the complete image.
However, Videocardz notably stresses that the Laptop GPU RTX 5060 is about 18% faster than its predecessor, the RTX 4060, thanks to its GDDR7 VRAM on the latter and more GPU nuclei.
There is no official confirmation of these laptops from colored or nvidia, so this leak is all that we have for the moment – apply salt pliers if necessary. The alleged jump over his predecessor suggests that 8 GB GDDR7 can be sufficient to provide good performance – the same thing could also be true for his desktop variant.
I always want the 8 GB GPUs to have gone for good, but I think the GDDR7 speeds will be the difference
Now don’t get me wrong, I still want the GPU 8 GB to have been gone for a long time. Modern games – particularly badly optimized – are often very informed, to the point where 8 GB can be too low for certain triple titles. However, the RTX 5060 Laptop GPPU could benefit from the upgrading of GDDR7 memory, and these benchmarks indicate a significant leap on the RTX 4060 on the basis of older geekbench tests.
With the planned improvements, I think 8 GB of VRAM are slightly More acceptable for laptops of the game at a low budget; Especially since the laptops of play with less powerful GPUs generally remain with 1080p and are often not much higher than 1440p (which already makes no sense for me).
The potential for improving basic image frequencies, associated with the advantage of the new DLSS 4 resolution resolution of NVIDIA and the multi-trame generation, could make computers RTX 5060 more attractive for budgetary players.
The desktop GPU should naturally surpass the variant of the laptop (if not, something is really wrong), and these landmarks tell me that the RTX 5060 can be slightly better than what I expected. Let’s just hope that the price of laptops will not become too unrealistic, given the announced starting price of Nvidia of $ 1,099 for its main manufacturing partners.
