Google now displays advertisements in Chatbot conversations via its adsense network for research, marking a change in its digital advertising strategy as generating AI becomes not only more common, but more and more used in place of traditional search engines.
Previously, the announcements were broadcast in the search results of other websites, but Google added them to conversations with chatbots operated by startups AI earlier in 2025 (via Bloomberg).
The deployment comes after the technology giant carried out tests last year, and earlier this year, with AI research applications like Iask and Liner.

Google’s advertising activity was an incredibly lucrative area for California Company, which maintains a share of 90% of the world research market (via statcourter).
