Peshawar:
The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Department of Education has struggled to achieve its registration objectives for public schools, which leads to an extension of the current school admission campaign until May 31.
According to official sources, the ministry fell below the provincial objective set by the Minister of Education, who was aimed at scoring a million children during the campaign.
In response, the Director of Education gave official instructions to all agents of the education of men and female province, exhorting them to intensify efforts to respect the revised deadline.
The officials point out that the extension is intended to maximize the registration of students and to bring as many children outside the school as possible in the formal education system.
We can recall that in April, chief secretary Shahab Ali Shah, chaired a high -level exam meeting concerning the 2025 school registration campaign.
A detailed presentation was given on the question of children outside and the strategies implemented to bring them to the education system. The meeting was informed that around 4.9 million children remain outside the school throughout the province, while 9 million are currently registered in educational establishments.
The secretary’s special education informed participants that district education agents (DEO) specifically target clusters with high concentrations of unregistered children.
Stressing the importance of community participation, the forum has been informed that a full door-to-door registration campaign is underway, involving local teachers and influencers.
In addition, elected representatives of local organizations, young volunteers, former community and religious leaders are mobilized to support the campaign at the local level.
