- The SSD Teamgroup P35S can erase your data permanently and irreversible in a few clicks
- Designed for spies, journalists and managers, this SSD values the secret on the number of raw performance
- Accidental erasure is a real concern of the material which erases data in two simple movements
In a technological landscape where external discs often blur in a sea of similar characteristics and conceptions, the new portable SSD of teamgroup takes a lively detour in the spying territory.
The portable SSD to the creation of Create T-Creative introduces something unknown on the consumer public market: a data destruction mechanism in one click.
Although the concept may look like something drawn directly from a spy thriller, Teamgroup says that the device is intended for professionals who manage sensitive or classified information.
A self-destruction SSD that promises a real erasure of data
This external SSD stands out thanks to its “physical destruction circuit of physical chips”.
Unlike standard data wipes, this functionality claims to electrically destroy the data stored on the reader, which makes them completely irreparable.
Triggered by a two-step process process calls for an “anti-metouch” system, users must both click and slide to activate the wiping.
It is not exactly a large red button, but the dramatic nuance is part of the call.
The P35, which weighs only 42 grams and measures 90 x 40 x 18 mm, offers transfer speeds of 1,000 MB via a USB port of 3.2 Gen 2.
This led to the daring slogan “transfer 10 GB in just 10 seconds – ready for anything” on the Teamgroup screen at Computex 2025.
Although it is not at the top of the graphics for the best SSD in terms of performance alone, it offers sufficient flow for the management of on travel.
What is most notable is the target audience of P35. Teamgroup refers to users such as journalists, business leaders and government representatives, people who may need to instantly have confidential data.
“Designed for end users who carry highly confidential documents, the SSD prevents data violations and guarantees that personal and confidential information remains protected in all circumstances,” said the company.
There is even a nod to “the use of defense”, which, depending on your level of cynicism, could either suggest an authentic intention or feel as a stretch of public relations, in particular in the light of recent cases of evil is high level data.
The compact size and wiping function of SSD data facilitates the image in the hands of an agent or an infiltration denunciator.
But in practical terms, this can also arouse concerns about accidental erasure, in particular for users likely to be agitated. This is one of the reasons why I would like to test this device myself.
This is not likely to be a leading choice for players or media creators, but for users who favor speed on speed, this can offer real value.
