While companies continue to adopt AI, AI, instant messaging and online collaboration platforms, we could expect the email to be based in the background.
However, corporate email seems to become more essential, and it turns out that when responsibility and structure count, email still leads.
The recent report on the state of e-mails 2025 to exclamed, on the basis of more than 4,000 responses from global IT leaders, revealed while the communication batteries are developing, they are still anchored by e-mail.
Why email remains a serious communication channel
Today’s workplace is more digitally connected than ever, but paradoxically more fragmented, with tools like the concept, Asana and Monday.com are praised to improve collaboration, and 89% of global IT leaders consider the crucial video conference for operations.
However, these tools often fail to achieve standardization on the scale of the company, because their adoption is generally uneven, influenced by the needs of the department, the size of the company or maturity – and, therefore, communication can be fractured on all platforms.
This complexity requires a lot of computer teams to fall back by e-mail, which remains the most reliable means of ensuring continuity between teams and geographies.
According to research, almost half of all internal and external communications still perform by email, more than any other tool. For sensitive or high issues, email is preferred because it offers traceability, permanence and clarity.
“We have never had more ways to connect and collaborate at work, but email remains the backbone of corporate communication,” said Vicky Wills, director of technology at Exclamer.
“As new tools are emerging, the challenge for computer leaders is not only the selection of platforms, it is a question of ensuring that they are implemented strategically. This is how we build communication environments that are clear, connected and adapted to the future.”
Departments like this (56%), HR, customer success and finance continue to rely on emails, has revealed that the study, because they are roles that require precision, auditability and structured messaging, features that often lack instant messaging platforms.
Instant messaging is undeniably a central part of modern affairs, and 89% of computer leaders consider it as important as email.
However, although instant messaging is used for speed and informal checks, email manages the tasks that must be examined, recorded and revisited.
For small and medium -sized enterprises that seek to rationalize communication while maintaining surveillance, email remains central.
